Hi, My name is Barbara and I'm an alcoholic, no joke, I really go to AA meetings and I'm sober. My life is so much better. So why am I on FUBar? beats me. My friend needed the points so I obliged her. That said, I'm mostly a facebook junkie. I went into one of the Lounges and it was like a version of stickam.com without some crusty guy wanting to cam me.

So, anyway, I consider myself a radical person. A lot of my friends are Anarchists, squatters, lapsed anarchists and wingnuts. It's all good, we all have to be something.
I love baseball but I haven't been to a game all season, just haven't had the time. Its a blast to go to a game at Yankee stadium in the right field bleachers. It used to be way fun back in the day but they stopped selling beer in the bleachers and the security tries its best to shut down any tomfoolery that the Bleacher Creatures try to conjure up.

So, mostly, I sing with Rev Billy and the Church of Stop Shcpping. It's all about stopping excess consumerism, stop being a slave to your credit card and trying to shop at mom and pop stores. Yeah, I still a sinner. I give in and shop for unnecessary things and I still shop in chain stores on occasions and sigh....I don't always check the labels to see if the product is made in the USA or not. I try though, its the least I can do.

I work in a law office, its full of gossip, intrigue and the work is boring, the people are insane and I'm the only one that admits to being on medications to cope with it all.

Ummmm, I'm not looking for love online. If you live in NYC and you wanna hang out, thats cool but I'm not looking for sex, drugs and stalkers.

Have a happy day!!

Music
I like music, what creature doesn't? Even Darth Vader has background music. I'm learning to play guitar. I'm mostly learning folk, rock and blues. I like all sorts of music. There's not much I don't like. Well.....I don't like that creepy Pat Methany type jazz. I think jazz musicians of that ilk are pretentious assholes that couldn't join up with a decent rock band because they weren't cool enough. Its usually guys like that who approach me and think that if they tell me that they like jazz that they have an in with me. Guess what! I hate that music and I think you're a pretentious geek.

Old school jazz rocks, I even like Bing Crosby and Benny Goodman.

I grew up with Motown and Philly soul so of course I love soul music. I gave up soul in the mid seventies to become a full fledged rock and roll burn out. Reading Creem Magazine and Circus magazine and listening to WLIR fm and WNEW fm saved me from becoming a disco queen.

As much as I like the "new stuff" like REM, Radiohead and Nirvana, I'm pretty much a classic rock fan. I hardly listen to anything made in the late ninties and the 21st century because to me, its all retro, washed out shit.

Oh yeah, I'm also a Grateful Dead fan, can't leave that out. There's nothing like a Grateful Dead Concert, God bless your soul, Jerry Garcia!
