Government legislation is controlling more and more of our lives. America the free has more laws controlling its citizen's behaviour than any other country in the world. America the free has more people per capita in jail, mostly to do with drug related infractions, than any other country in the free world. Liberals and conservatives are constantly at each other's throats, each promoting their own pet legislation, seeking to prohibit the ideals of the other side.
Thomas Jefferson wrote: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
I fear that the United States is headed for another civil war and collapse; the fate of all empires throughout the course of history.
