I have a cousin who is 2 yrs older then me, who has down syndrom. I have grown up with her and she is like a sister to me. She is not very high functioning. She can barely talk and doing a lot of normal every day things we do is hard for her. She is living with my aunt who is not her mother but her fathers sister. A few months ago out of the blue she was hospitalized for blood on the brain and for seizures. The dr.s stated that the blood on the brain was from blunt for trauma... and no proof that my cousin had any seizures. My aunt is known for her bad temper and everyone was worried that my aunt might have hurt my cousin b/c we also found bruising and cuts on her that couldnt be explained. Adult protective services were called in but they never did anything. So my question is:
A: Hire attorney and fight for custody of my cousin.
B: Try to give aunt benefit of the doubt. |
