Holding on to Memories

It is soooo easy to hold on to things. Doesn't make it easy to let go, but when we do, we are free of the chains of those memories while the memories can remain in our treasure chests of our minds. For my deceased husband, I bought a small treasure chest box at a place similiar to Pier One or World Trade Market or something of the sort. In the box, I placed one of his favorite shirts, our wedding bands, the unity candle at our wedding, and the like. Things like that I hated to destroy or give away. At least, it isn't the suit. Oh, you haven't heard the suit story. I'll have to find that story from another blog that I have had running for more than 2 years now... LOL.... At any rate.... I still hold onto those type of things, along with some photographs. QUESTION: Do you think that this is necessarily a good thing or a bad thing? If you had a boyfriend or girlfriend that was holding on to a few things from his/her ex-spouse, would you allow them to keep those things or make them give it away? No. Noone is trying to make me put things aside. In fact, I have been told in the past that they think I should hang on to them because he was so much of my past with good memories. What is your take on it though????
