I have a 98 Chevy Z71 Extended Cab. It has 225,000 miles on it. I have spent so much money on it lately, I can hardly stand it. New intake manifold, new fuel pump, new cats, new O2 sensors, plugs, wires, distributor. The list seems to go on forever. Mechanics these days cost a fortune! My ex was a mechanic, or I helped do the jobs. Now I pay someone to do it. I know about labor rates, and part markups from having a shop. I am just venting, because I am not used to paying for repairs.
I am writing tonight, I guess, because I am wondering if it is worth keeping this truck up, or if buckling down and making payments is a better idea. Not that I can afford payments, but geez, getting this one fixed seems to be costing an awful lot.
What would you do...keep fixing a truck you love? Or go buy a new one and start making payments...
