I've never gotten this. Why do some (many really) non or former drinkers make a POINT of pointing out they don't drink when it doesn't really matter if they do or don't? It doesn't add much to a conversation aside from the potential "Hey look at me I am different" aspect that I have seen. It just seems pointless to me.
Not that I am trying to discourage non-or former drinkers, go for it. I just don't understand this need I seem to see to inform the world of your status. For example; something I try to avoid, I quit smoking four months ago, but I try not to be one of those complaining former smokers when I am around people puffing away. I just don't want to be that bitchy ex-smoker guy.
Is it just me noticing this? |
