I didn't post a link and say, vote here- last time I attempted to do something without advertisement, two people (three, two in the audience, and me) showed up. (Ok, I did advertise this time, and so did others. But still.) To those who didn't vote- s'ok. (Or who saw my photo in the contest and decided you couldn't in good conscience give it your thumbs-up :) )
To those who did- very very many thanks and much surprised gratitude.
In any and all cases- since I neglect to say, since it is worth saying- this, from this sleepy and often undiplomatic fellow, warm wishes north of the Equator and cooler ones south. May we all get to know each other a bit better at least in the next year and like who we discover, may acquaintances become friends and friendships deepen - of course!
I've only read the first long story in this collection by Charles Stross, but I recommend it. Somewhat soft sci-fi mixed with math references to warm this ex-math-major's heart ;) and amusing, well-plotted, well-done.
from the Defenders of Wildlife. I wondered...
Delayed awhile... Just opened it. My sister adopted a penguin in my name and I received a stuffed penguin. Yes, this does make me very happy.

I have my second notreallyaMUMM (more a public opinion poll, exactly)
running for a few more hours. :)
Finished reading this novel today, at the suggestion (of the series, not the novel) of a friend. A lot of fun, and of course I liked the mention of Hindemith partway through ;) Good mystery, memorable characters. (And a dashed-off review, but you'll see better, really...)
Greetings and Salut!
(and night... no, no, nope! Didn't you get the memo? All hellos. Hellos only.)

"The Guardian" which was very good- cliched in some places but dramatic and affecting.
an awards dinner given by Challenge Industries. Mostly went very well, and the speeches were kept brief *g*. My job coach was among the recipients, which was pleasing. Somewhat tiring day overall.
