2024 is here and now we have AI generated photos. Many of you are having fun with them which is fine, but there are some of you who are taking this too far and meshing reality with fantasy. 

It is one thing to have a few AI photos and have fun with them. It is another thing when you make the majority of your photos AI generated versions of yourself and you cross the line of catfishing with AI photos.

Recently we have been getting a lot of complaints about this. We have tried to let people do their thing but as usual, people have started to take this too far. I am writing this blog to respectfully ask everyone to be respectful with these images. Many people create an album and mark them as such. While that is not a requirement, it does show you are not trying to fool anyone.

There used to be a woman on this site who would photoshop her face on playboy models. We had to have this convesation with her about her defaults. She was actually pretty good at photoshop but this AI stuff takes it to the next level. It is not fair to the unsuspecting dude who is fooled by these photos and then reality hits and they come to us. This creates unwanted extra work and is a bad look for the site.

We have always prided ourselves that fubar was real people i.e the salute requirement. We have never allowed people to use model photos. Yes they try but we flag them. If these AI images start to get too out of control, we will start flagging these images.

The saddest part to me is that some of you feel that you have to present yourself as an AI version when your real life version is way better. I know it is tempting, but please don't make your entire profile or defaults about this. I am not talking about the cartoon versions we see of you. I am talking about the ones that mesh models with your face.

If you have any questions please hit me up. We want to keep fubar real, authentic and fun. Let's not let it devolve into the AI fantasy land. Please do not abuse these images and ruin it for everyone.

If you see a profile with AI only phtoos with no salutes, please report. We will take action on these fake profiles. At least with a salute on file, people can somewhat see what is going on.
