My name is George. I'm a bit of a misanthrope and an angry American. I'm opinionated and politically incorrect in the extreme, and it's probably the most important part of my identity, my passion.

Sadly, most Americans today do not understand the difference between patriotism and nationalism. A nationalist supports their nation no matter what wrongs it commits. A patriot is loyal to principles only, hoping that his or her nation will cleave to those same values, but understanding that nations grow corrupt and people betray principles. I consider myself a constitutionalist. I do not believe that document gives me any rights. Certain rights are natural, neither to be granted nor taken away by anyone. Rather I believe the Constitution is historical evidence that many of the Founding Fathers' beliefs aligned with my own.

There has yet to be a respectable nation in the history of the world. All have been too flawed. So long as the corrupt left-wing duopoly of Democrats and Republicans remains in power, America will always be just another corrupt nation. I hold both parties in contempt, particularly the millions of voter who, through either ignorance or intent, lie about what they actually support. These beliefs, though some may label them "high-minded", are at the core of who I am. Like I said, "angry American". A much more detailed explanation of my frustrations is in my blog.

In other matters, I'm not the most photogenic individual. You could say my appearance matches my personality, ha. After a few surgeries, I look like a cross between the Wolfman and Frankenstein's monster. I'm not a selfie kind of guy, so most of my pics are of beloved pets.

I love nature. Some may consider me a paradox, a trapper who loves animals. As the son and grandson of wildlife officers, I simply understand the necessities of game management, and I understand not all animals are pets. We have certain responsibilities to our pets, certain responsibilities to livestock and beasts of burden, and we have a different set of responsibilities to wild populations.

I'm blessed to live in a very backwoods community on my mother's part of her old family farm. My closest neighbors are wildlife and family.

I'm not as serious about Fubar as some are. I haven't bothered with a salute, and I don't really care about bling. I was just curious about the site, returning 12 and a half years after creating a profile, and it's a way to kill a few minutes and relax.

I've never smoked or drank (ironic in this simulated bar). I even gave up caffeine in 2006, and carbonated drinks altogether in 2018, so I'm a pretty boring individual.

Interests
Reading, writing, and rats... the three "R"s. I've loved fantasy since I was a kid, a pure escape from reality, so my bookshelf is my treasure trove, and I even try my own hand at the wordsmith's trade on occasion.

Rats have stolen my heart, but after burying my last one in July 2019, I'm currently taking a break to work on my health and to let my heart heal from the near constant heartache of their short lives.

Though my days of training are many years in the past, I enjoy watching any kind of combat sport, though that's pretty much the extent of my interest in sports. Boxing, MMA, kickboxing, muay thai. . . . I enjoy watching it all.
Music
Classic rock and Celtic.
Movies
Braveheart, Lord of the Rings, Hacksaw Ridge, The Accountant.
Idols
None
Video Games
RPGs, particularly Skyrim. Use to play D&D for almost 20 years before I became too antisocial.

  • Curmudgeon76 The irony is not lost on me that, after so long being unable to work due to my own health issues, I'm now able to work when so many do not have that option. I'm grateful for the opportunity.
