A story that surfaced back in April to which A boy in Fort Myers, Florida, has been charged with aggravated battery for hitting his classmates and his teacher over a set of crayons.
The 8-year-old boy is about 4 feet tall and weighs about 70 pounds, and got into trouble after a fight with his classmates over a box of crayons. He began hitting the classmates and also hit the teacher, who was trying to break up the fight.
The Royal Palm Exceptional School called the police and arrested him. The female teacher ended up with bruises on her face.
Dorothy Williams, the boy’s grandmother, is upset with this incident. She told WBBH-TV: If he was overpowering her that much, I feel like she shouldn't be in that line of work…If she can't deal with him, put him in someone else's classroom. If it's a male, whatever, and let them restrain him.
Dorothy praised the school for her grandson’s education but questioned the teacher’s disciplinary methods.
The WBBH TV reporter asked her, “What's the appropriate way for a teacher to restrain your grandson? By touching him?”
Dorothy replied, “Yes. If that's what she's got to do, she's got to do that”.
The boy is apologetic for his actions and said when he meets the teacher the next time, he is going to apologize.
Before that apology, he will face the Lee County Judge, who will determine whether to go ahead with the felony charge.
I think the punishment is excessive; all he needs some good talk from both the family and the school’s principal. If he continues the bad behavior, he can be expelled. But a felony crime at this age will significantly affect his future and this incident doesn’t deserve it. Ok….. first off book the Grandma on cruelty and insulting the very fabric of Grand Mother Sanctum. Dorothy get a grip the child needs touched alright, but by the strings of a straight jacket and the padded walls of a nut house! This boy should not be allow into anything called Exceptional. Who calls their school exceptional… right there screams not higher education but those who can’t cope! Furthermore, no one likes a bully in school how many kids who have grown up under the finger of a bully or have been bullied throughout their life need special help coping in our society? Can you say thousands? Now here is the kicker and I can here you say now… Marty, you watch too much friggen TV or too much Movies… it is not that way dude stay out of the Movie theater. Well bite your tongue! Not hard mind ya… this is just for the skit… But, I firmly believe Movies, TV, News Reports and some Magazines shaped our future… that’s right shaped our future into what it is today. Think about it…movies that are made mostly far fetched ones are coming true…Remember back in the day when you seen spy movies and the spys all had these devices to talk to other spys… hmmm Enter into the brain Child of the future Cell Phone… oh and just about everyone has one, and those that don’t consider yourself lucky and richer for it… however… if you have kids and they are out stranded along side a lonely highway… well spent money the phone just paid for itself… Ok, how about Minnie cars, commuters ah ha… again those were things we seen in the movies tv back in the day and now… Minnie coopers, small jets, hybrids… stealth planes, hang gliders, hmmm all things that we thought were just Hollywood magic seems to be common place… ok here now enter space age future tv… 60/ 70 movies shown life in the future was solar powered…. Hmmm… imagine that… solar is now becoming almost common place…So no Marty did not watch too much TV Marty can safely say what those directors and producers do, is take those ideas of futuristic things and give those who have solutions more ammunition to create like items. Remember Mono-rails back in the day… Hmmm Japan is almost ruled by them… Underground trains… subways….so when I say a Child shows signs of being a bully early then perhaps a serial killer later… You know…we can not tell for sure what will be or what might be, but when you step in something, it is nasty, it smells and you make that face like…ewwww, I have a sneaking suspicion that it was not a pile of daisies.
