The River Haunts me--a Follow up to A tale the River told me
Listen to the silence he says
Just how do I do that?
He makes it sound so simple
An easy mortal combat.
The river ran from me that day
Laughing as he flowed
Today I still remember how
He sang that secret code.
I sometimes hear the whispers
Around my human soul
Reminding me to not forget
There are things I can not control.
But the River's message haunts me
I want to hear his song
I want to be a part of him
Playing with him all day long.
I seek to be one with him and
The others we can not see
But sense their laughter at us
And live in enlightened harmony.
So I will keep on trying
To find the doorway in
Leaving behind my human errs
And my artificial skin.
