This is a work in progress that came to me one night. any feedback would be appreciated. Hope you enjoy it.
Clutching the glass of elixir, she begged silently for someone to stop her. She had a choice to drink the elixir and become immortal or die in the shadows of the night. The moon was full and shining down on her in the room she was in. That was the only light other than the candle burning slowly away. She could feel the life slipping away from her.
He knew the feeling he felt it was her. He always had a feeling that he was to be with her, ever since the first day they met. If he had not taken the path that he found, he would have lost her forever. He felt her slipping away from him, he knew time was running out. For he was already immortal himself, this happened long ago.
Letting her mind take over she was going numb. She heard many voices of past ancestors telling stories of the ancient ways. She heard a familiar voice, from many lifetimes ago.
He was calling out for her knowing her true name. He came to a door at the end of the staircase, hesitating, he could feel the energy the room held. He threw open the door and saw her lying in the moonlight slipping away. She looked at him and knew what she was to do. He helped her to sit up and put the glass of elixir in her hands. She could barely move it to her lips, as she did and let the elixir slide down her throat. He started to cry fearing that time was slipping away.
As she drank the last of it she collapsed into his arms and blacked out. There was a sudden gust of wind that came throught the window and blew out the light of the melting candles in the corner of the room.
He clutched her to him, 'she's still breathing he thought' there may be a hope. He let the tears fall freely as he stroked her long hair and pleaded with the spirit to keep her safe and bring her back. He started to doubt the power of the elixir, wondering if she had been given a weaker dose.
No he had gotten it from a trusted guide that had always helped him in times of need. The elixir was a dark purple color, it was sweet and smelled like lilies in full bloom mixed with honey.
They called it eternal bloom, for the powers it possesed to bring one back to life as an immortal. He prayed for what seemed like hours to bring her back. He stroked her cheek and gave her a kiss on her lips. Suddenly she drew a sharp deep breath in and started coughing. She opened her eyes and looked at him and instantly knew that she was in the right place being in his arms.
He started crying again as she reached up and stroked his cheek. "Why are you crying?", she asked. "I thought i had lost you forever and couldn't bear to live without you for one more day." he said. She started crying at the thought of not being with him. "I'm glad you came to be with me and save me from doing the wrong thing."
"I've known all my life that i was to be with you from the moment we first met lifetimes ago." She cried at hearing this and hugged him tighter, "i feel the same way". She then sat up to kiss him, as he kissed her back, he could feel the energy grow between them. The room became fuzzy to them as they kissed feeling her transformation complete itself.
He also felt if he had been awakened to something he never felt before. They sat embraced in each other arms for a long time. She finally spoke; "I've been meaning to tell you this and never have in all the lifetimes we've known, i love you" she whispered. I love you too Alaric, he said. She looked at him and said,"i was waiting to hear that". As they kissed again in the light of the full moon.
