Another soul without a heart
A heart given freely
For with this heart came unyielding love
A longing so deep and so very true
She gave it all for you
And in return a heart you gave
A little bruised
A little broken
With love and faith she took you in
Offering the world
The warmth in a touch of skin
Wading through the trouble brewing
She came to you with shining eyes
So bright these eyes the darkness couldn't enter
Until the day you turn off the light
The day you closed the door
She begged for something
Anything at all she'd take as long as the heart given was hers to keep
With that heart she raged against the uncaring world
The ungrateful you
Holding the heart given to her in replacement for her empty one she cried
Crying her broken vows and lost dreams to the sea
She raised your heart in one hand
A blade of truth in another
"Come to me" she screamed in vain
For no one heard her cries
So with truth and pain she stabbed the heart
Piercing it with her shame and loss
Inside you felt it clear
Your heart forever black
As black as the raging sea dwelling within her soul
The love you give
The love you take
The price you accept
The heart you break
