Fallen Angel
She once stood tall and proud
With wings her only shroud
Eagerly soaring in contentment
Bitter words exchanged, resentment?
Descended quickly, drop
Tattered and scorned, trollop
Beautiful ivory wings, singed
Self degradation, pitiful binge
Realization of human scars
Teenage memory, steel bars
A room of brocade and velveteen
Sanctuary for pain and love, you somewhere between
Hear the rush of waters gushed
Darkness surrounds hope will not be crushed
Gather the broken pieces, fix
De-chamber the safe haven, nix
Illusions of falsity presented as security and peace
Accept with openness and willingness, release
Allow yourself embracing arms
Repair the scars from years afar
No need for bandages and tape, unmask
Relinquish the pain of the past, not such a difficult task
The first step is the hardest part
Be still, no dash or dart
Singed it maybe, not certainly not broken
Open the door receive your token
Replace the hurt with newness to fill
Renewed joy in feeling love, your will
Oh Angel you have not truly fallen, wait
Your strength carries the weight, gait
Your light be bright let it shine
Countenance be given be mine
True this angel has not fallen from grace
But she has fallen true not a woeful place
Find the light be it your guide bright
Plant yourself make it right
Pick yourself up, dust yourself off
You know how, no mocking or scoff
Happiness be your allure
Everything done is pure
Why question who you see?
You ignore what’s to be
No fight is lost until you give in
Closing the door soulful sin
Dear sweet angel you have not been clipped
Who you are, you made chipped
Forgiveness simple to the exterior, why not interior?
You know how to surrender to this pain
Holding onto it brings hurtful strain
Drop it
Lose it
Stop it
Be our own best friends, gleefully
Trust what you know, truthfully
Fallen Angel you know you possess the spark
