Caterpillar
Sweet little insect travel and see
Into the future so you can be free
Free of the toils that have caused you to fear
Wrap yourself up with wise knowledge--appear
Hang from the branch that gives comfort--keep
Keep out the worries, don¡¦t allow creep
New found wisdom
Enlightened
And freed
Take all your knowledge
From that planted seed¡K
Spun up in my cocoon my little soul kept
Hidden from eyes to witness--I wept
My tears like layers of muddy waters--deep
I fought the currents my soul here to keep
Knapweeds below me, my safeties strong place
Slowly revealing my time honored face
With wings emerging
Months of soul purging
Beauty to be revealed
Release me from my cocoon--unsealed
Blink in the sunshine
Feel the warmth rise sublime
Flutter my wings
Take flight, my soul sings
Hover above the world left behind
For they can be cruel and often unkind
Instead fly to place of promise--my gift
No longer through ashes required to sift
Sift through the shame that mired my life
Caused me to worry with heartaches--strife
My wings like gold
They glisten and shine
For now I made from the purest divine
My beauty not seen by bare naked sight
It is revealed in the gift of His light
Not to be placed in a jar with a lid
Not to be gilded not to be hid
Instead in his hands to be molded his clay
Always His forever to stay¡K
So sweet little caterpillar take now your leave
For you have become a butterfly--weave
Rise up with your beauty and hold fast and pure
For crawling no longer my wings fly--sure¡K
