Christmas is once again upon us and for many a joyous time of the year when Families and friends all coming together sharing the good tidings and delicious “Egg-Nog”. Once again we will be giving gifts and watching the faces glow and eyes sparkle as each gift is unwrapped.
Then the traditional partaking of the Christmas meal followed by the afternoon nap or watching football game or favorite movies. Grandchildren playing with their new toys while grandparents sit back watching with big smiles and hearts full of love. Oh yes Christmas a joyous and celebrating time of the year. As we go into the holidays let us not forget what we have and to be truly thankful for everything.
Let everyone of us not become conceited and self centered least we forget what others are suffering during this joyous holidays.
Least we forget-- the many single parent families that have struggled throughout the year to make ends meet. Christmas to them is just another day—no tree—no gifts—no special Christmas dinner.
Least we forget-- the many homeless that will be crowding into shelters trying to get one hot meal on a cold joyous day. Then only to return to the streets to attempt to find a dry warm place to sleep.
Least we forget-- the many soldiers that are away from their loved ones fighting for our freedom. Their Christmas will be spent guarding their post diligently as they are requested to do so.
Least we forget—the elderly that are shut away in nursing homes not knowing what day it is. Some of them sitting their anxiously awaiting families to visit that will never arrive.
Least we forget—the many that are in the hospitals some clinging to the last breath of life. Many more that are so engulfed in pain their minds can not think of the joyous time of Christmas.
Least we forget—the many single people that sit at home, no family—no where to go on this joyous holiday.
Least we forget—the many families that have struggled day after day to make ends meet for their children. Their desire to give so much to their children but the money is not there.
Least we forget—the fire fighters,--police,--doctors, -- nurses and so many more that have to work on this holiday to maintain our safety and comfort.
So yes my friends as we go into this holiday with so much I implore you to take the time and remember how really bless we are.
My Christmas gift I give unto everyone of you is—“LEAST WE FORGET”.
