What are you waiting for?

Cleansing Spell/Ritual:

Supplies Needed: 1 pound of bicarbonate of Soda 1 pound of sea salt Several ounces of fresh rosemary Small bag made of cheesecloth (a piece that can be tied will do) Several large white (or non-dyed) towels (optional: soft natural fabric robe - terry cloth, cotton, flannel, etc. - white or non-dyed) Either 1, 3, 6 or 9 candles - preferably white or, if scented, pale in color. Also, if scented, scent should be lavender, rosemary or chamomile. Incense: patchouli, sandalwood, lavender or rosemary. Wooden matches and candle snuffer. (You may want to place a pen and paper or notebook by your bed as well) The timing and setting of this spell are crucial....it should be done just prior to going to bed (or when you can sleep/rest undisturbed for approximately 8 hours) - you should sleep alone - if this is not possible then you should be able to enter your bed well before or after your partner and you should remain UNDISTURBED the entire time. Prepare the room - Wash out the bath tub with sea salt, epsom salt or clear water - do not use chemicals or soaps. Place candle or candles on the counter in front of the mirror (if the mirror is situated so that it will not reflect the light - bring in a mirror to place behind the candles.) Place the incense in the center of the candles or next to the single candle to be used. Place on white towel on the floor next to the bathtub, place the robe and several towels within easy reaching distance from the tub. Run the bath - make it comfortably hot. Add the sea salt and bicarbonate of soda, place a bag or piece of cheesecloth filled with the fresh rosemary under the stream of running water (if you can't do this then let it float in the water as the tub fills). While the bath is filling prepare your bed so that you can go straight from the ritual and lay down. Keep a soft light on if necessary or leave the room in darkness. After the tub is filled enter the room unclothed (do not turn on the lights) and stand before the candles and mirror - light the candle(s) while chanting the following: I now cleanse myself of all selfishness, resentment, critical feelings for my fellow beings, self-condemnation and misinterpretation of my life experiences. Recite the chant 3, 6 or 9 times. Then light the incense and prepare to enter the bath. Step (carefully!) into the tub and stand in the center facing the candles. Repeat the chant 3 more times and immerse yourself fully in the water (this may need to be done by first immersing your lower half, then laying back and immersing the remainder of your body while some sticks out above the water - that's okay!) The face and hair should also be immersed each time. You will repeat this step 3 more times during the course of the ritual. Between immersions lay back and relax - try to keep your mind clear of though - as thoughts float to the surface greet them and send them on their way - if they are related to negative feelings or incidents remind them that they no longer have any affect on you and release them to the universe to be dealt with there. After the fourth and final immersion begin to drain the tub...lay back and feel the pulling sensation as the water recedes...visualize the water pulling all negativity from you physical body, your spiritual self and your aura. After the water has completely drained stand up in the tub (carefully!) (you can wrap one of the towels around your hair now to help prevent excess dripping) raise your arms and chant I am now cleansed of all selfishness, resentment, critical feelings for my fellow beings, self condemnation and misinterpretation of my life experiences. I can feel the power of peace, acceptance and oneness with the universe. Breath deeply and feel the influx of peace and acceptance as you allow yourself to air dry. Once you are dry wrap yourself in towels or the robe and stand before the candles once again. Repeat the last chant as you extinguish each candle (1, 3, 6, or 9 times). Retreat to your bed and relax.....go to sleep and record any dreams/visions etc. that you receive during the night. Each time I have used this spell I have marked it and written comments and results - it has never failed me...it can be used (with modification, of course, to prepare for ritual, to cleanse the aura, to heal resentments, to restore power and spiritual strength, etc.) Oh, and you might want to plan on a shower the next morning to remove any residual salt or soda left on the hair or skin (there usually isn't any significant amount though)... I find leaving it until the next bath or shower cycle helps to strengthen the results... but may be a bit itchy for those with particularly dry skin! I just wanted to add a note on the chant....it is an updated version of the original one for the spell.....as I checked over my notes I was reading my comments, and I replaced the other chant with the one above because I really liked how clear and specific it made the intent....the original chant certainly sounded more mystical and "witchy" but, it just confused the issue, whereas this one had a beauty and simplicity yet managed to cover everything..... Here's the original: Candle lit Water dip't Once, Twice, Thrice . . . and once more. Wash from me anger, fear, iniquity Purge from me confusion, weakness, perfidy Pull from me hate, malice and infidelity. Once, Twice, Thrice . . . and once more Water dip't Candle lit.
