MILFORD- poice are probing death of a new born baby who was found in a BFI trash truck yesterday morning on Purchase Street. The gender of baby found by a BFI employee around 11:30 am during residentual trash pick up was not immediately available, and the cause of death is under investigation according to milford police the baby was believed to weigh 5-6 pounds.last night,police and the department of public works crews were gatherd at the DPW garage at 30 front st.And poice crime scene tape could be seen just inside the garage.A town source said the truck was brought to the front street garage to have the load sifted by investigaters. It is believed the body was placed in a trash can which was then dumped into the truck.It is not known how soon the body was discovered after being dumped in the truck. A Milford Reginal Medical Center spokesman said the hospital had no information about the case or the dead childs mother. This latest tragedy comes on the heels of several new borns that have been found abandoned in the boston area since the passage of the state's Babies Safe Haven Law.The law allows parents of newbornsto drop them off at police stations,fire houses and hospitals without punishment.The law is set to expire next year,but legislation was files last month to keep it on the books permanently.Milford Police are asking any one with with information on the baby or it's mother who may need medical attention to call the tip line 508-473-3800.....(plz dun call less u absolutly know)
