Entrapment — Tuesday, November 07, 2006
If you convince someone to commit a crime, and then catch them, What have you really accomplished? It seems like creating a problem, then solving it, so now you get a pat on the back. But anyone who would do something illegal even with having to be tempted and convinced is a "bad" person and should be in jail?
I'm sure there's illeagal things that I would do with the proper motivation. Maybe I'm just a bad person, and should just go sit in jail. Or maybe I should just stay away from the possibility of that motivation. Simply wanting to do things, doesn't make people all that "bad" in my opinion. Sometimes people are in situations where they don't even know what they want. People like the things they like. ( duh ) wether it's a food, a color, a design, an activity, different things for different people. I may like doing drugs. I may even like killing people, or fighting with people. And if properly convinced while I'm in the right state of mind, it may be possible for me to do any of those things. Everybody is responsible for their own actions though, I guesse....
Freedom of speach. It's illeagle when immenent danger or lawlessness is caused from it. So you can't stand outside a bank, and try to convince people to go in and shoot the place up. Or atleast that's how it was explained to me. But why not have people do that, and then they can catch the people who would go in and shoot up the bank because someone did that???? How about we go around doing all kinds of stuff like that? We could get someone to walk around selling drugs on a busy street, and then watch, and bust the people who buy them. Getting all these people who might use drugs off the street, what bad people they are anyway. We can have people walk around as prostitutes too. They will walk around trying to convince people to sleep with them for money, like say $10. Then all the people who accept the offer can be thrown in jail. We can also have people walking around convinceing people to sell drugs too, then after anyone is convinced to sell them, we can arrest them. Same with killing people, and a whole bunch of other things. Fights would work well for this too. We could have someone walking around provoking people, and then arrest those who get violent, there for getting those people who are violent off the street. Then other people will see this happen, and will stop committing all these crimes?
I think everyone knows that there are undercover agents out there busting people who buy and sell drugs. We still have a drug problem. People know police are out there doing their job, and trying and catching people who break the law without having to be convinced to break it. But we still have crime. So is catching a bunch of people we convince to break the law and publisizing it really going to do much?
