They gather in this silent place and slowly bow each head
A calliope of sobbing hearts paying homage to the dead
Sadness never felt before covering each heart and face
The storming sea of tears cease as the preacher takes his place
In the distance they take there spot with esprit de corps and pride
Paying homage to someone never known; a comrade still inside
Small children and the elders who’ve aged all gather round a tent
As through fleeting words awkward and quick; to higher prayers are sent
A man steps up they’ve never seen; in his eye a tear
Prepare yourself for our salute to a loved one you held dear
In precision movement like a clock the players take their place
Shots soon shake country side and send tears down each reddened face
As they present the final salute and silently stand tall
The music beating off the hill is each soldier’s final call
Balloons released toward heaven some hold such loving memories Drifting toward zenith reminds them a loved one, whom no longer sees Moving in they take each place but not a word they make
A loving dedication in each pristine movement they take
Each fold so crisp and delicate and white gloved hands hold the stain For on the day a soldiers called home tears from heaven to earth will rain
So accept this flag and allow your tears to flow
Dedicated service they gave here, now onto higher they must go Though honor they have left with you, so your head you should hold high
With a single white rose and tear lain down, time to say goodbye
