EAting harassment? — Tuesday, October 31, 2006
As I was walking to my math class, I passed a bulliton board thing. It had a poster talking about sexual harrassment. ( I didn't read it ) But I was thinking, that's about the only part of life you "can't "talk about at work without haveing risk of getting in trouble. We actually seem to incourage people to get upset over certain things. No more sticks and stones theory. What's the difference between that and eating? If you talk about what you ate for dinner, and someone over hears it, and doesn't like hearing it, it's going to be very diffficult for them to get you in trouble. But ( in most policies I know of ) if someone over-hears you talking about sex, Then that's sexuall harrassment, if they don't appreciate it. If you ask someone what they had for dinner lastnight, they will probably tell you without thinking about it. If you ask someone what they did for sex lastnight, there's a chance the get all upset. lol. Why? Some might say it's none of your buisness what they did for sex lastnight, but is it really anymore of your buisness what they had for dinner lastnight? Some might say, well, that's gross, so you can't talk about it at work. But many would say much of eating is gross. I like calamarie, I've had several people tell me it was gross. Vegitarians, might think eating animals is gross, and cruel and uncalled for, ( wich it kinda is ) but try to file a suite against someone for talking about eating meat at work. Or maybe you eat liver and onions, ewe liver gross.
So there's more to be said here, but I don't feel like writing more about it right now. I personally don't usually like talking about sex, just as I don't enjoy talking about or hearing about many other things. But I do highly support people's freedom of speach in all envirements. People shouldn't go around pissing people off on pourpose by asking them questions they know will upset them somehow, or talk about stuff to people they know people don't want to hear about. However, the overhearing, or accidental seeing of something you don't want to, is just life. I don't like it when people talk about how we are or should be obligated to god in some way, or seeing stuff that implies that. But that doesn't mean that people should get fired or reprmended for talking about that at school or at work.
People might be like, " oh my gosh, you have the same disdain for religion, as do other people have for sex, and porn and stuff?" Yah, basicly. Why, yah got a fuckin problem with that? lol. Have a great halloween night. sacrifice some virgins or something.
