Just when you begin wondering what has happend to folks, then you hear the bad news. He was the only non-elected President the United States has seen when he followed up the scandal of the attempted impeachment process of Richard Nixon.
Like James Brown, he also suffered from pneumonia, but it is incredible that he lived such a long time with so many things he had accomplished in his lifetime.

I certainly admired him for the tenacity in being able to pick up the pieces from the shambles caused by President Nixon and the whole Watergate scandle. It is not easy to come in from behind an aftermath to clean up what damage had been done.
