Good Morning and how are you? I am good. Hey are you about tired of the same commercials as I am over and over again? I mean come on already with On-Star for instance. I hear now where they are doing a test on after the crash on three separate vehicles. One is the Honda Accord, another is the Toyota Camry and the third is the Chevy Malibu. So they smash the vehicles into a wall at I don’t know a set speed. The announcer says listen at these crash results. First the Honda Accord….varoooom, (that is me imitating the car sound) Bang!!!!! Now lets listen as the Toyota Camry hits the same wall…(no, I am not doing the sound effects on this one, you get the point) and lastly the Chevy Malibu … after the Malibu hits the wall, : “ This is ON STAR we have an alert you car has been in a crash do you require assistance?” Ok, now what if everyone had a talking car? I mean holey crap the roads would be full of crashes… could you imagine driving down the road and you car finally shut the hell up and let you drive and you notice the driver in another lane fighting and arguing with his car… what if your car was a back seat driver…. Here is that conversation: “This is GONE TO FAR, I notice your driving habits have changed, do you realize how fast your going, and would it kill you to say THANK YOU every now and then, Oh , oh and watch out for that deer ahead, I noticed you just ran over a squirrel and it did nothing to you…Oh by the way we are low on gas, and would it hurt to check my oil every now and then …”
How about cars from Communist countries: “ This is you Leader, drive mainly on roads where we can keep track of your every check point, (Bam) What was that? Did you hit something? You just lost your privilege to drive on the leaders roads, stop me right now, get out and walk you swine and do not look back!”
Or better yet those third world countries that don’t use cars…
“ This is on Camel, I see I am low on water, the next watering hole is 20 miles away, I need feed and if I don’t get it you will have Camel dun to clean up”
You know I am sure On-Star is fabulous when it works, I am sure it’s not free also and I am sure it has saved lives along the way. But to me the feature is just another way for you to be tracked down… Oh you say I am paranoid… ok, have it your way, but not so long ago people were talking about having chips surgically placed into everyone’s body so government could keep track of us, some agreed and some said, ah fewy not happening there is no way for government to have that adverse effect on everyone… hmmm ok… let me bring in more ammo, do you own a cell phone? It has GPS right? Oh ok…. Still not a believer… how about TV, Radio, Car GPS, On-Star for Pete’s sake. All those items have chips in them to say where you are… or perhaps not… you never know do you… but they said we would never be able to walk on the moon, Gas would always be cheap, we would never run out of fossil fuels and global warming was a hoax… well…what now?
Ok, done scarring the bejesus out of ya… Have a wonderful day, and On-Star in third would countries would be cool hooked up to a camel… you have to agree there…ha ha
