Good Morning this day after Halloween, I trust everyone survived it. Hopefully anyway. This story intrigued me… Oh sorry the one I am about to tell, not Halloween in general. Have you ever been in a grocery store and seen a child or perhaps not even a child age person open up a can of soda or rip into a bag of chips or whatever… just could not help themselves to helping themselves. Well the next story is sort of along those lines and I am almost shocked this has not happened before and it perhaps has but has never made the news due to…well basically advertising it and it then would happen over and over again. Here is the story:
Man accused of guzzling at Wis. Wal-Mart THE ASSOCIATED PRESS MUKWONAGO, Wis. -- A man told police he couldn't help himself when he took seven bottles of a spiked lemonade drink from the shelf at a Wal-Mart Super center and drank them in the liquor aisle. Police Chief Fred Winchowky said the 43-year-old town of Eagle man claimed he was a recovering alcoholic and had been dry for 16 months before he went to the store Oct. 14 with his wife, who was not aware of what he was doing. "He went down that aisle and he said 'I just couldn't control myself,'" Winchowky said. "He stated he was upset he broke his 16-month streak and he didn't know how he was going to tell his wife." The chief said security video caught the man drinking the 12-ounce bottles of Jack Daniels Lynchburg Lemonade over a 15-minute period. He placed the empty bottles back on the shelf. Confronted by a store official, he first denied it but smelled of intoxicants, Winchowky said. The man was cited for retail theft. Now, I understand the point where as this man had a problem. But, hold the bus! Doesn’t all these retail stores like Wally-Mart and Target oh hell I can’t think of them all, but don’t they have surveillance cameras? I think they do, and don’t they also have people designed to watch these cameras? I mean how could anyone sit there at the camera and let this dude polish off 7 bottles? I mean did he have a funnel? Holey smokes one has to be quicker then the eye to polish them off that fast before someone says… hey dude… Good huh? So you paying for that with Cash or credit card? I think the stores surveillance monitors who are supposed to be manning (I am not referring to man up either) the monitors should be forking up some cash to help pay for this dude’s binge episode. I have went so far as reaching into a bag and sapling before I got home something I bought at the store but never in the store prior to paying for it. I guess what the dude said was true, he could not help himself. I am just surprised to not see in this day and age people leaning up against a cooler and knocking off a bottle or two of cold beer, now if they uncork a wine bottle that is premeditated due to the fact they had to bring in their own wine opener and you can tell when someone is wrestling with a bottle of wine to open it up. I keep recalling that pore ole gal trying to open a bottle of wine on some You-Tube Video and the act of her trying to open it she bust’s the top off the bottle and her and her girl friend pour what’s left from this half broken bottle into their glasses and toast one another for a job well done… Well done after 10 minutes of trying to uncork a simple wine bottle. Oh well…
Other then that nothing new in the Bell Household except Jax dressed up as Pocahontas and Mandy dressed up as little red riding hood and yes I have pictures and will post them soon on proper sites and all. Other then that may your day be filled with all good things and if you do see a pore fellow, woman or whomever tipping a bottle in a liquor aisle give them a break…perhaps they just couldn’t help themselves as helping themselves.
