I love this state. I love the fact that the first time I cooked deer meat for my ex he flipped and hasn't looked at a cow since. I love the fact that Big Lake has a Wild Game Supper with buffalo, elk, deer, alligator, and many others for $5 all you can eat. I love driving a truck. I love that my dad has so many deers mounted he's started to hang his cowboy hats on them. I love chicken fried steak with mashed potatos and CREAM gravy, with green beans and a roll (not a biscuit, it falls apart). I love how shocked people are when they see a close friend of mine who's black wearing a cowboy hat and boots, listening to Garth Brooks. I love texas chilli (shivers, one lady made it with cream of mushroom soup, I had nightmares for three days). It's not a side dish, it's the main course! I love that the land I grew up in (west texas) is so flat that at one point you could see the lights from Denver City, Seminole, Plains, Seagraves, Lovington, and Hobbs. I even love the hellacious sandstorms that blow 70 mph, because after that everything else is a light breeze.
