Good Morning. That was a great weekend. Funny how good weather makes for great times. Yesterday we did a little yard work and then just enjoyed the day for what it was. Thought about the various military personal still away from home and those that gave their all. My family have various military personal in just about all branches of the service all made it home from duty and those still in are in our hearts.
We did our normal brats on the day and I made up a scrumptious salad which I will certainly do again it was truly awesome tasting and so made for those warm days of summer. Very simple, Fennel, Tomatoes, Red Onion and Cappers mixed with 3 cheese Italian dressing with a little parmesan cheese and fresh pepper…mmmm mmm!
I heard about this gal who was playing college ball and actually swatted the ball over the fence but tore ligaments and was only going to be credited with a single after the ball cleared the home run fence, however this is where the sexes divide. Women Certainly Are Different From Men: Sara Tucholsky, all 5-foot-2 of her, marshaled her strength for her first-ever fence-clearing home run in April, which would have given her Western Oregon University softball team the lead against favored Central Washington, except that she tore a ligament rounding first base. Since she was unable to move, by rule she (actually, a pinch-runner) would have had to remain at first base instead of circling the bases, but two Central Washington players picked Tucholsky up and carried her around the bases to allow her to get credit for the home run. "You deserve it," one opponent said. "You hit it over the fence." Kindness hurt; Central Washington lost, 4-2, and was eliminated from the playoffs. In today’s world athletes do their best to show their worse at times…so in hearing about acts like these, it gives me a good feeling.
