It's true when they say "Jealousy is a disease. Get well soon", because it can consume you in such a way that you start to deteriorate. Your mind, your soul, your self esteem...it all starts eroding away.
I personally think jealousy, in small doses, can be healthy! Makes you up your game, so to speak. Keeps you on your toes and keeps you from being lazy. Whether it's in a relationship, at work, friendships. Yeah it sounds a little twisted but that's MY take on it.
There's nothing wrong w/ being jealous sometimes. It's human nature. But letting it take you over...now we have a problem.
One thing people have to understand is, YOU CAN'T CONTROL THE ONE YOU WANT. I see it all the time. Boy wants girl, girl likes to flirt, boy gets jealous and mad. Girl is oblivious or worse yet, doesn't care or thinks it's funny! So be it. If they're not going to acknowledge your feelings, move on. You shouldn't have to convince someone to like or love you back. If the feelings aren't reciprocal, let them go. You'll be better off.
The jealousy rules I live by:
1. Never show/tell just how jealous you really are. It's the same concept as "Never let them see you sweat".
2. Do not make a fool of yourself. Crying, screaming, acting psycho...yeah, no.
3. If you MUST tell them what they're doing makes you jealous, only tell them once. More than once and they just don't give a shit.
4. Never put it in writing. It can come back to haunt you.
5. NEVER get mad at the other person. That's like screaming at the sun for being too hot.
Simple, easy.
