Side note...Spell-check is a must!!!Good Morning. There is a segment called the Darwin awards which normally is those who try to cheat death but usually end up…hmm Not winning…here are a few that should have made the list but will perhaps just be runners up. I will call this segment:
“” Thinning the Herd “”
A burglar was killed trying to sneak into the Maranatha Used Clothing store in Miami on May 31; police said the man had crawled between the blades of a large, idle ventilation fan but that before getting all the way through, he accidentally tripped the "on" switch. [WKMG-TV (Orlando), 6-1-07] In Forst, Germany, in May, as a 43-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy vied in a spitting-for-distance contest from a second-story balcony, the grown-up, trying for extra momentum, thrust himself forcefully up to the railing, launched his saliva, and accidentally fell to his death. [Der Spiegel, 6-1-07] Almost but still around to cheat death once again is: In June, a 17-year-old boy survived but was seriously injured when he fell about 75 feet onto some rocks at California's Mount Diablo State Park. He had climbed over a handrail in order to fake a fall so that his pals could capture the plunge on video to put on his MySpace Web page. [San Jose Mercury News, 6-12-07] Hmm is MySpace that important of a video or picture venue for the vast pursuit of almost certain death? I do not have MySpace but my daughters all have pages or spots of what ever it may be called and their cousins and so forth and so on. But, I can safely say they do not remotely come close to Darwin class. You know America’s Favorite Video’s is along those lines. People will do the goofiest things to claim a spot on that show. I just wonder how many people have cheated death or lost I guess is the more important number. I bet that ranks up there on the Darwin Scale… What ever you weekend has in store for you please make it a safe one…there are perhaps already enough Darwin awards handed out. No need to audition…and I will do the same. Have a wonderful weekend
A huge hug and many pats
