LIFE’S A JOURNEY
Ever take a road trip just driving in your car
Sometimes the road will be straight and smooth
And it seems like nothing can come in your way
For one can see for miles, nothing ahead but smooth sailing
So it is the foot to the pedal full steam ahead
One just steams ahead without a care in the world
Not paying attention to what is around them
Not see where they are or what can happen
But then something happens
They break down in the middle of no where
There they are standing there looking around
Lost in the middle of who knows where
With no where to turn… nor know where to go
Shaking their head wondering why me
Not a clue to how or why
Maybe one should have paid attention to the road signs
One that said next exit 100 miles
Or should have check the tires at last stop
How about the little noise or ping one blew off
What ever it did not matter …………then
Now it does and you shake your head wondering
Thinking that you should have paid attention
Been more aware of things then you are prepared
But nope you did not and look where it got you
On some road in the middle of now where
Life is a journey too in a way just a road one travels
It has it twists and turns, bumps and smooth roads
And it has it own roads signs and pits stops
One just has to pay attention and see them
To be aware of the things and people around them
How many times does one just ignore things?
For hey it is not happening to me why care
My life is set, I have the things I want and need
Nothing can happen to me for I am secure
I work hard, cause no waves go with the flow
But think…. What happens around you does affect you
The gossiping and back stabbing at work
You know what they are saying is wrong
But you keep your mouth shout
Never thinking hey that could be me
Or how about the homeless on the street
You might walk by them every day thinking they bums
Did you ever think that they might have been like you?
Had a job, a family all that you had
Then one day all was gone
There are things everyday that one sees that are wrong
The injustices played upon others
Whether it is because of race, sex or religion
And most close their minds and hearts
Thinking never happen to them
Then one day it does they are the ones affected
Then all blinders are off they become advocates
Speaking out, fighting for what they believe
And then wonder why, others not hear, see what’s happening
Not thinking they did not before…….. Till it was them
Maybe we all should stop, look, listen and see
What is happening around us?
Then think ……. Can this one day be me?
Can I be the one that is homeless?
The one that is persecuted for my beliefs?
There is a saying
But for the grace of God……………… That could be
Think about it
