Matters of the Heart
In matters of romance and self-control,
I know that I must exercise restraint,
and though temptation seldom takes it's toll,
I know I'm human - not a cold, dead saint,
when I'm confronted with some dark deep eyes
that whisper secrets, my resolve grows faint.
A rock, I tremble, much to my surprise
as sparks are flying where no sparks should be,
I feel a churning somewhere deep inside
unfolding romance in a soft spring breeze,
surrendering as passion mounts yet higher,
emotions whirl with luscious fantasies.
Just once to feel the freedom with the fire,
raw feelings that I sinfully indulge,
to lose myself in tender, wild desire.
I manage not to lose my loyal soul
In matters of romance and self-control.
