Sport's blog: "Naughty Japan"

Swinging couple 'Jack & Rose' to hold Osaka gangbang today Take my wife... dozo." This is not a one-liner by a Japanese clone of Henny Youngman, but a topic of rapt reader interest in Shukan Jitsuwa's (1/11-8) first issue of 2007. It seems that swapping has been taking off with a vengeance, bringing together couples whose ages range from still wet-behind-the-ears kids in their 20s to white-haired swingers in their 60s. And what's more, it's doesn't stop with simple swaps that just involve pairing off and retreating to dark corners of the room. Oh no -- these are full fledged orgies with multiple participants of both genders. Shukan Jitsuwa estimates the number of Japanese who engage in swapping -- or "ero-couples" as it prefers to call them -- presently number in the several hundreds of thousands. "We've been married for seven years now," says a dyed-in-the-wool enthusiast who goes by the name "Jack." "And thanks to perverted play, we've still got the hots for each other." Osaka appears to be the hub for such activities. Until three years ago, Jack, who is 34, and his 33-year-old wife, "Rose," lived in a small city near the Sea of Japan. "There was no action around there at all," Jack sighs. "So one Saturday a month my bride and I would make the three-hour journey to Osaka so we could have some fun." The monthly commute to paradise went on for two years, until Rose decided they couldn't go on partying like this. "So we pulled up stakes and moved to Osaka," Jack relates. "After all, isn't life something to be enjoyed?" Spared the fatigue and expense of their long commute, the two have turned to increasingly brazen play, inviting single men to participate. Seldom does a day go by in which the couple does not enjoy at least one orgasm. And when they invite others to their place to party, things really get flaky. At the start of the new year, the aforementioned "Jack" tells Shukan Jitsuwa he has hopes of engaging in one of his wildest dreams. "My fantasy is to arrange for 100 single guys to line up and do it with my 'bride' one after the next," he grins. "Up to now, the most she's ever had in one session is seven guys. But she's perfectly happy to take it in either aperture. Double penetration's fine too." Recruiting new participants from a home page launched from August of last year, the collaborative "Jack & Rose" site announced plans to hold their 100-man gangbang as a revival of an old tradition called "Himehajime," a practice introduced in Ihara Saikaku's 17th century story anthology "The Life of an Amorous Man" (Koshoku Ichidai Otoko). According to the Kojien dictionary, "himehajime" is defined at "Shinnen ni fuufu ga hajimete kougo suru hi" (the first time a husband and wife perform intercourse in the new year). This time, however, Jack wants to shoot for the entire 100, and posted a recruitment notice on his Web site. Whatever the actual turnout, the big event takes place today, January 6, 2007. Shukan Jitsuwa then introduces another Osaka denizen of unconventional practices, a 47-year-old proprietor of a "happening bar" who goes by the name "Bosu." Bosu and his 28-year-old wife, Ai, have hit upon an unusual formula for a happy marriage. At least once a week, Bosu takes her to one of the city's love hotels, and they invite along a third party to join them in their lovemaking. Ai takes charge of selecting Bosu's female playmate, and Bosu reciprocates with a guy. "My wife likes to watch me doing it with another woman," says Bosu. "She'll lie there and observe us, and then just when I'm hitting my stride she'll lose control and join in the action." "Once I brought along an 80-year-old man, and another time a black guy joined us," he boasts, his, er, chest swelling with pride. From the action at his happening bar, Bosu is convinced that Japanese are taking greater interest in new varieties and more varied types of sexual experiences. "Yes, we're getting more young couples at the bar these days," says Bosu. "I think people tend to get bored with conventional sex sooner than ever and are seeking more stimulation."
