The fog rolls in, the night is mute.
Creatures go still, and people disappear
Without a word,
Though their footsteps can still be heard,
And the city falls under its spell.
Warm and inviting, the lovers respond
To the haunting song they know so well
And begin their eternal dance,
While the fog hides everything,
The sins of the night,
Turning all color to gray
Yet vibrant in its way.
It takes the faintest of light,
And defies the origins of those sins.
He clouds a girl's mind
The way fog can wrap around
one's senses. She knows
How it goes, that he feels the same
When she coos and caresses, so tender.
The fog insinuates, like pale fingers
As it stealth fully creeps
Upon the couple while they sleep,
Naked and unaware as they lie there.
It covers all with its giant pall
Of oblivion that transcends them
From the world they pretend in,
A world foreign to the reality
That is theirs alone, and together
They are as one forever.
Whatever happens in the fog
No one else can see,
No one else will know,
Nothing more will show.
