Pig tossing has the police stumped in West Point, Miss.
Kevin Pugh, 20, was fined $279 this week for tossing a 60-pound pig over the counter at the Holiday Inn Express on Nov. 12. West Point Police Lt. Danny McCaskill said, "It must be some redneck thing."
McCaskill said no one was hurt, including the pig. He said it's silliest thing he's ever seen.
Pugh pleaded guilty Tuesday in city court to a charge of disturbing the peace. There's no evidence intoxication was a factor. McCaskill said Pugh called the incident a prank.
It's the second recent pig throwing and fourth animal tossing incident in town. Two of the incidents involved possums.
MY TAKE: The one thing I love above all else when it comes to the human race is that there is an endless supply of stupidity to draw from. I've heard of pitchers lobbing balls at batters Ive heard of people throwing shoes, coins, and batteries at each other but a PIG?!?!? Ive seen alot of crazy shit in my lifetime but I have NEVER seen someone whip a pig over a hotel counter. You've got to be kidding me. And how about the police LT who said it had to be a redneck thing. Hmm cant imagine what would give you THAT idea. Let's see...pigs and possums being thrown over counters, Mississippi, No alcohol involved...Yea I think it's a safe bet to say that this is a redneck thing. Who throws a pig? Seriously. Is that their idea of a date? "Hey honey lets go toss this here pig over a counter at that there people building" Unbelievable...whats next sheep humping?
