I am writing this to get some opinions on PITBULLS for families with kids.
The reason I am writing this is to see what everyone else thinks. I have read MANY newspaper articles on the attacks of PITBULLS on kids as well as have heard many news broadcasts about the same thing.
To be totally honest, I have raised and breed PITBULLS for the past 10 years or so. I have 4 boys that range in age from 6 to 16. MY dogs have been around my children their entire life and my boys love this breed of dog more then life itself. Any of my friends that know me, know that my dogs are the best mannered dogs they have ever seen, or had.
I just don't understand why the breed gets so much bad press. They are a loyal breed to their owners and will do ANYTHING to not only protct their owner, but the are the most attention seeking breed I have ever seen.
Why do people give the breed a bad name without finding out the facts of the breed FIRST. By this I mean...PITBULLS with a locking jaw is a MYTH!! They are not natural bred KILLERS as everyone thinks. They are loyak, loveable, and passionate dogs. They are only as bad as their owners make them, it is NOT bred into them.
I have had 3 litters from 2 different females and have NEVER heard that any of those pups ever hurting ANYONE!!
So...My question is: Are PITBULLS good for families or should the breed be killed off?
In my opinion...I feel that the breed is the BEST DAMN BREED to own and I feel STRONGLY that PEOPLE NEED TO PUNISH THE OWNERS....NOT THE BREED!!! |
