Can anyone tell me what the term Rattus Norvegicus means? Well I certainly couldn’t either unless that is had I not looked it up. It means “Common Domestic Rat, Serious Pest World-Wide” Now having said that, it’s partially true but not all true. The partially part comes from it is one big pest world wide no doubt, The only rat-free zones in the world are the Arctic, the Antarctic, some especially isolated islands, the province of Alberta in Canada, and certain conservation areas in New Zealand. Now I can certainly understand they do not like Snow, Ice and cold Weather. I am almost certain they do not like a long swim either, so understandably The Islands thingy is also believable but how about Alberta Canada? Huh… that is so cool that the Government took steps to prevent the spread and annihilated those pesky critters. Veva Canada. Yeah I am with you here, why on earth did Marty bring up Rats! No I am not Itchy Rat or Biggy Brother…wow that was a cartoon from my sordid past… I also know people call other people rats for telling on them (ratting them out so to speak) The word Rats also comes into play when something doesn’t go right. It beats using Shit! Rats! I always use the term “Rat Basturd” unequivocally a solid term used for that time when I lose a game to someone…I am just a little competitive. But it’s all in fun, unless they are Rat Basturds and then the term fits… Men get called rats all the time by women which again it beats ass-hole and well you choose the term, I know women have those special, special referral phrases for us…I will just leave that stone uncovered because it would seem it is more or less a woman to woman thingy for us. I believe there are certain things that rats are good for and uses for them, but most escape me now. I mean for sure Lab Rats have proven a good tool for testing and finding cures for certain diseases and such. Also many geeks who choose to follow the career path of scientist have been known to be called Lab Rats by others who choose to think their career is mundane and repetitive. All in all the pesky rat has pros and cons and that is why I choose to write about them. Other then that it is time for me to say have a wonderful day and may your Monday be Rat Free and fun.
