Hello Stang. I agree with almost everything you say, but I have a few questions and comments. Let's go on past the census crap and the ethnic slurs and who lived in the ghettos first. The word Ghetto is yiddish, not hebrew. You said, "The United Negro College Fund was started because at one time, scholarships were not granted to people of color." If we take that into consideration, then The United Negro College Fund is outdated and no longer need. The Civil Rights Agreement, Affirmative Action, and minority quotas have evened the field. They've actually slanted it a little in the minorities favor. More on that in a moment.
Martin Luther King was a great man who had wonderful ideas. He died for his ideas and ideals. I heave no problem with a national holiday for him, He's a true American Hero.
The NAACP, like the Negro College fund, had it's time and place. Anymore, they seem to be a bigoted organiztion. I've not heard one good thing from them in a long time. Just a bunch of bitchin' and moanin'.
BET is a joke. They perpetrate the very stereotypes that make little old white ladies scared of the big, bad, black man. That's not to say the some little old lady will watch BET, but you get my point.
HBU's are just that. Historically Black Colleges. If say, Michgan said they were Historically White College, the would be deemed rasist and/or bigoted. Speaking of Michigan, yes they were giving biased entrance exams to minority students, but it wasn't to keep them out, it was to ensure that they met a minority quota set forth by some affirmative action statute. The Michigan State Police were doing the same thing. The test that was given to a minority was much easier than the test given to a white person. I saw this on Oprah. She's the one that broke that story. Back to the University of Michgan...what got them in trouble with, who, the NAACP, was the simple fact that they were taking underqualified minorities just to meet a quota, so they wanted to drop the mandated Affirmative Action quota.
It's not racist to be proud, but do you think Farakan's brand of pride isn't designed to hurt whites? Does he ever get called down by the black community? If he ever has, I haven't seen it. But, if the Klan (who I think are a bunch of stupid, inbed, bullies. but they have the right to their opinions,also)comes walking thru town, the whites are right there trying to stop them.
I agree wholeheartedly, Don't repost that bullshit bigoted propaganda, that's what hate mongers want you to do. But, like you said, let's look at the history. Let's try to get it right so no one feels slighted. White, black, brown, red, or yellow. Did I forget anyone? If so, I apologize.
