First off you're probably wondering what a "Wapsi Rat" is. Well I've got a camp on the Wapsipinicon River in Eastern Iowa and that's where I spend alot of my free time hence the name Wapsi Rat. I'm just an average working stiff. I'll be 47 in August and happily married for 23 years now. I don't have any kids of my own other than four legged ones. I'm a softy for all animals but especially dogs. Right now we have five of them and they were all either strays, orphans, or rescues. I can't help it, I can't say no to a puppy face! As far as hobbys and such goes I love music (Blues, Rock, Jazz). Movies at home. Auto racing especially NASCAR (Matt Kenseth's my fav). Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes football. I enjoy the outdoors like camping, biking, gardening, etc. If I'm cooped up for the winter I build model cars, collect 60's slot cars and track, and also read the occasional hardback. I also obviously do the online thing too, that's why I'm here. I spend time on FuBar to just check people

Ive been dealing with alot of issues this week and trying to sort thru whats real and whats not.. Whats worth holding onto and what to let go of.. Life is beautiful and complicated and because of that conflict there is pain.. People in this world seem to be disconnected they throw words around like Love so much to so many people some of which they barely know.. Making that word lose all its meaning.. Why is it so hard for people to be honest and upfront? No games, no hiden agendas, just this is the way it is now take it or leave it.. Why are people so self centered these days that they could care less how thier actions or words affect another? Cruelty which astonishes me. Thankfully there are some people out there who are like me, who see the world the way i see it. These are my 3 best friends 2 of which have been there since 9th grade and will always be in my heart till the day it no longer beats. The last is my dad who has stood by me thru the crazy dark periods of the last 6 yrs..
