I sit in this silent prison,
The one I create in my mind.
The only other person there,
Is the person who doesn't know why she was left behind.
It rents space in her head,
Along with all the things that you said.
You made a promise,
That was never kept,
But you knew that on the day you left.
The memories haunt her,
They make her want to scream.
How could something that precious,
Turn out like a bad dream ?
Only you hold the answers.
They will never be shared.
You will make her live there with the haunting,
For the rest of her life.
I sit in the silent prison,
The one I create in my mind.
The one that says love is not worth it,
They always leave you far behind.
You are always left broken, shattered and torn.
Then this silent prison sets in,
Leaving you in the abyss.
