"Summer Moon"
This summer will bring the warmth,
The warmth that my heart desires.
Deleting all that's behind me...
The shallow people and etched memoirs.
The sunlight will kiss me freshly
As it gently tans my pale skin,
Allowing me to somehow feel
The vibrance of life again.
When the day has politely ended,
The sunset disappears beyond the clouds.
The beach is suddenly empty,
The crashing waves await a new crowd.
The faceless, summer moon appears,
Amongst an elusive, pitch black sky.
Sparkling stars shine above like diamonds
And beneath it all is where I lie.
The full moon's rays fill my spontaneous mind.
It's anxious glare fills my pores.
The wonder of moonlight hugs me now,
As I slowly walk to the edge of the shore.
The summer moon remains faceless,
Although this July it's magically bright,
Whisped away by footloose dreams,
Alone, I fade carelessly into the night.
