I have a friend that is going through a bad break-up. He's taking it hard, I do therefore the good friend thing, take him out, talk to him, strip clubs...the works (tonight's adventure cost me 120$ on him.
I do this because nobody else will and my friend, he needs this.
I do this because it needs done. Nobody else sees this, I usually do. I've got this empathic little twinkle. It makes me be the person needed at the right time.
A little, exhausting, gift. Mostly because nobody has that little emapthic twinkle for me. I'm always the one with confessor collar, the $20 for the lapdance, the ear over six beers.
Don't get me wrong. I like that I can be that guy, it just gets burdensome at times.
