The Earth is Our Mother
Tilting toward the light of the Sun,
Our Mother awakens and warms.
Her skin greens with all manner of life.
Her breath gently stirs the clouds and renews the air.
Her hair, as flowing rivers and streams,
Cascades downward between the breasts of mountains.
Onward, downward, through the valley of her thighs
Pouring into the oceans at her feet.
Her arms enfold us in their gentle embrace,
Spinning and rocking us through turbulence and peace.
Her hands guide us, opening doors and closing others.
Her eyes light our way, down paths of our own choosing.
Her Heart shows us assistance and compassion, when wrong turns are made.
Her womb births our brethren creatures four legged and two.
Her energy flies about on the wings of birds,
In the water dance of sea creatures,
And within the beating of hooves.
The Earth is our Mother.
She awakens.
