I am alone,
The way I’ve always been with all that isolation can bring
With only the comfort of a happy thought or a song I could sing
I am alone
I stand against a sea of troubles, a storm of strife
And although I may contemplate, I am too strong to go the way of the knife.
Alone I must raise my son
No one else has the obligation nor the drive to do so but me
I will teach him all I know
I just hope all I know is enough to be
I do not wish him to go through the things I have
Or do the things I have done
But I fear the sins of the father may be passed on to the son

Truly alone make no mistake
It’s true in every relationship I partake
No one has ever been there in my life
No one would live there with me
To feel my pain and to help struggle with my strife
So if someone should give me change to use the phone
To call someone who cares, I have none to call
