Third Trip To Atlanta - March 22, 2007
Tuesday before the 22nd - Went to step daughters place and spent the night and to make it easier for her rather than her coming to pick us up at midnight Wednesday night. The person that was to care for granddaughter backed out stating she was not feeling well so the toddler went with. She slept all the way up thankfully. This trip was uneventful. So much nicer traveling with a sober person!
And we found the best time to travel through Atlanta! Virtually no cars on the road around 5-5:30am! Step daughter was going to give me the wheel when we entered the city, but traffic was so light she drove all the way. We managed to get there in record time too! Left at around 12:30(Central) and got there around 5:30 (Eastern).
Granddaughter kinda freaked out when she was in the hospital since she recently was in for tubes in her ears so she and mom stayed in the car most of the time. Daughter managed to sneak in and see her dad while daughter napped and was not prepared to what she would see. She was a mess when she came out. I am used to it and it did not bother me.
Again, step daughter drove, partically to race against daughter's napping and to keep her mind on driving and not what she saw in the chemo room. She had forgotten about the tubes and how her mom looked when she had cancer. She was not accustomed to seeing Jerry talking in his sleep and 'twitching'. I am used to it. I have seen him in one episode of Nam nightmare, the others were just different..non Nam.
She did real well for someone who was petrified of Atlanta traffic! Again, record time in getting home - and on ONE tank of gas. Left around 4(Eastern) and got home 7pm(Central).
Doctors fussed as Jerry for not taking his potassium and gave him more meds for his throwing up and his stomach. He slept most of the way home which was a good thing as he could not watch the speed his daughter was going to get home.
We stayed at his daughters place and finally came home yesterday. He was in such pain the last couple of days (due to the stress of his granddaughter's constant whinning and grunts. She is not quite old enough to form words yet for what she wants so she points and grunts or whines), witnessing an arguements between her and her hubby, and the way she was rushing the morning trying to get son to school on time on the day we left. Just made him a nervous wreck!
I usually get calcium vitmans that have D and Zinc in them. This one did not have the Zinc....so I now have a nasty cold. Cannot pop my ears at all. The pollen floating around step daughters house in the country did not help much either! It was a heavy coat on their cars compaired to the cars in the city! Arm still hurts like hell. Especially when I use the mouse on computer. I am going to have to figure out a way to use the mouse a different way so my arm will stop hurting.
Gonna rest now..meds I have taken are wearing off and have to renew them!
