when I visit pages with certain kinds of tracks and other codes (videocure and musicjesus are two examples of sources of track"z" one can embed on a fubar page, that produce certain behaviors) - my browser regurgitates. It won't display that page properly- or any other until I quit and restart.
Now I had other, but not happy, problems with video codes when I had my last computer, with OS 10.2 and an earlier version of Quicktime; and the FAQ said, upgrade Quicktime, upgrade your browser, etc. (Well, mine were upgraded as far as could be- which however wasn't far enough to avoid the security holes the latest versions had patched, etc. etc.) So... I now have a computer with OS 10.4 (the next-most-recent Mac operating system), plus the most recent Quicktime etc. (for it, anyway), and when I run into pages with video codes from some places, my browser still goes psychedelic (page really does go mad) and I really do have to
1) find out from AdBlockPlus (a SeaMonkey/Firefox extension) what the "object" (the embedding) is
2) create a filter to block it and its friends in future
3) save important things in other tabs (not related to fubar since most fubar pages are FUBARed), quit browser, reboot, apply filter, return to page - if I want to for some reason; see if this worked.
Often with fubar, too, it's a good idea (with SeaMonkey, and with other browsers that let you) to turn off all image loading except for images from fubar.com, cherrytap.com, (www.fubar.com, www.cherrytap.com, www.youtube.com, and a few other places - cherrytap.com, pc1/2/3.cherrytap.com , etc. is used by the whole images system, so don't get rid of that if you want to rate any photos) so that sites like photobucket.com, and browsers that insist on loading certain images (in embeddings especially!) before they'll even remember that the "stop!!!!!!! stop!!!! I told you to STOP!!!! ....
heck with this, I'll just force-quit the browser/reboot the computer" button is even there... -- erm, anyway,... forget photobucket...
