I may be unexpected,
this I am unsure.
My life has been dejected,
but through love, I will procure.
I was New York made, and Oklahoma born;
My heart's been frayed from others that scorn.
I was a little girl, who could not understand,
Why weren't you here, with your loving, guiding hand?
There was a time long ago,
When I thought you name was John Doe;
Because my mother told me so!
Through years of humiliation and shame,
Feeling the frustration, not worthy, to have your last name.
Now the years have come and went,
No more sadness and discontent;
Now I have a different view,
That's been long overdue.
If it wasn't for your loving donation,
There would not have been my creation.
I have become a woman now,
With three sons of my own,
All of whom are grown.
I love you!
