I have a beloved 82 Toyota 1/2 ton Pickup with 160K miles. It's started leaking oil, and it recently didn't pass the smog test, so I can't re-register it without getting it fixed.

I have $2K to spend.

Should I drop a new engine in the truck and get her all spiffed up?

Or should I turn the truck into an art car for BurningMan (a karaoke lounge) and spend the $2K on a nice little 95 Toyota Camry I just found thru a friend? :D
