First because some people idolize the founding fathers, or want to believe their ancestors were perfect, they have been lying about how they treated anyone who wasn't Caucasian. The US Constitution's definition of "people" excluded slaves, free "blacks", native Americans and Non-Caucasians. First over 70% of the founding fathers owned slaves, including Ben Franklin. The Supreme Court ruled that only Caucasians were citizens of the USA. It took the 14th amendment to change that fact. There were laws on the federal, state and local level that made it illegal for anyone but Caucasians to live in certain areas, get loans, use the same bathrooms, eat in the same restaurant or go to the same school. These are all true undeniable facts. I personally don't hate anyone because of it and I still admire Ben Franklin. What happened in the past should be judge by the time period and what was reality then. I just don't like the fact people try to hide these things, pretend they never happened and get upset people refer to them.
I just want to know if people can except US History when it come to race or they want to hide it.
A: I can live with the truth and need to learn from history.
B: I don't want to talk about it, let the past stay in the past.
