Did you honestly expect me to drop what I was doing to follow you?

Am I not my own individual my own self to learn and grow?

Time we spent together was rare
My life was not yours and I will not conform to what you want
If I leave you will die you tell me
If I stay I am untrue to my soul
Should I whither and die because you don’t want me to go?
Compassion and friendship are what I offer
What you want I cannot and will not offer
