I am depressed...
I look at my profiles om LostCherry.com and MySpace.com, and I get more depressed.
I have 140+ friends on Myspace, and about 100 less on LC. I post nearly 190 comments [granted they are likely "comment stamps" (the same comment over and over, with little or no changes made), but still...] once in a while, and get 5-10 comments back on each.
Why?
Why is it so difficult to turn around and return the comments given you? (Celebrity types need not answer - I realize you probably have more friends and fans than you can readily answer.) Yeah, I know - a lot of you have busy lives. I work 7 AM - 3 PM monday through Friday. I have a nephew with whom I do something each week. I have a friend or two with whom I chat OL or by phone. I still make time to go show everyone I care.
Many have a broken computer. Okay, I can see that. Please let me know - go to the library or a friend's house and post a bulletin or message occasionally.
Am I really so selfish when I want a comment or an e-mail message occasionally?
And I post blogs and have 7 or 8 people view them - at least on Lost Cherry I do, because it shows who viewed what on your profile; I have no idea on MS - and I have exactly 2 comments, one on each profile. Am I really such a boor? Or are repetitious rantings about how noone votes for me more interesting than jokes or real personal stories? Am I really inarticulate as this vast silence would suggest?
I post comments on others' blogs - I have 1 person who thanks me. I get bulletins all the time, however, begging for ratings or photo comments. Why do so many ask me to check them out, yet so few check me out? I must be a real dog or a real boor. I get add requests, and once I add the requestor, as like as not it will be the last I shall see of them. "Friend" on the Internet must mean "nitwit who exists only when the power switch is on", because it doesn't mean someone who cares about you. And no, I refuse to post bulletins every day whining how long I have been at level X, or that I have no comments on my photos. Why should I have to? It's not like I want all attention on MySpace or Lost Chery aimed my way. But it would be nice if just a few people would do for me exactly as I do for so many - post something cute, or funny or whatever in a comment, or comment my photos.
I guess I'll just quit posting. Why bother when I seem to be the only one reading or viewing or caring what I post?
