WHISPERS IN THE WIND - by Charles L. Hull
I thought I heard your name today
Whispered upon the wind,
And it made me think of long ago
And the love you used to send.
Tears fell from my saddened eyes
As I tried so hard to smile
And I had to face the pain inside
From mistakes I’ve made for awhile.
I thought of times I made you cry
And the many times you tried
To carry on and never show
The pain you felt inside.
But sometimes a heart completely breaks
With no way for it to mend,
And I heard your name the day you left
Whispered upon the wind.
So now I face this world alone
As I try to find a way
To deal with all this hurt inside
That fills me every day.
For I know within my heart
This pain shall never end,
As long as I can hear your name
Whispered upon the wind.
